FAROE ISLANDS

During five fantastic days we discover the highlights of the Faroe Islands. We will experience steep cliffs, lush green meadows, waterfalls, grassy roofs and exciting birds. Of course, we’ll learn about the interesting history of the archipelago as well.

Itinerary

  • Day 1: Tórshavn After arriving in Vágar (own arrangement) we go to Kirkjubøur. Here we see the ruins of the Magnus Cathedral and the small medieval St. Olav’s Church. There is also the old royal manor, said to be the oldest inhabited wooden house in the world and now home to the 17th generation. We then make our way to the center of Tórshavn for a city walk that includes Tinganes, the old town, where the first Vikings lived. We’ll explore the beautiful village with its harbor and grassy buildings and hear all about the history of Tórshavn. After check-in, dinner is waiting.
  • Day 2: Klaksvík and Kunoy Today, together with our guide, we travel by bus via Toftir to Gøte. In Klaksvík and Kunoy we will have the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful nature and take a short walk in the town. You can also buy lunch at Hjá Jórun. In the afternoon we will stop at the church in Klaksvík or Gøtugjógv, depending on which one can be visited that day.
  • Day 3: Vestmanna If the weather permitts, we head out to Vestmanna where an unforgettable excursion starts: a boat trip to the famous bird cliffs. Here, the sea has created a spectacular landscape of sharp cliffs and caves, and there is where seabirds thrive. Every year, thousands of seabirds nest here. After we go ashore again, lunch is waiting for us. In the afternoon we visit the small villages of Bøur and Gásadalur before heading back to the hotel for dinner and a good night’s sleep.
  • Day 4: Gjógv On our last day we drive to Gjógv, known for its distinctive natural harbor and we also visit the local church. Here we can also see the famous rock formations in the sea. After another great day, we head back to the hotel for a final night in the stunning Faroe Islands.
  • Day 5: Departure After breakfast we will be picked up by bus for transfer to the airport and start the journey home (own arrangement).
